Adjust the Heat Pump Expiration setting on an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat

The Heat Pump Expiration is the maximum amount of time that the heat pump will be run continuously as a heat source. If the setpoint has still not been reached by the Heat Pump Expiration time, the heat pump will turn off and the Auxiliary heat will be used to reach the setpoint.

To adjust the Heat Pump Expiration setting using the Partner Portal:

Note: This setting cannot be disabled. The maximum expiration time is 24 hours.

  1. Log into the Partner Portal.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Click Equipment.
  4. Click emPower Devices.
  5. In Device Commands for the thermostat, click Configure Device.
  6. Click the Advanced tab.
  7. Make any desired changes to the Heat Pump Expiration time.
  8. Click Save.

To adjust the Heat Pump Expiration setting using the MobileTech app:

  1. Log into the MobileTech app.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Tap Equipment.
  4. Tap Z-Wave Devices.
  5. Tap the desired Z-Wave thermostat device.
  6. Tap Thermostat Configuration.
  7. Tap the Advanced tab.
  8. Make any desired changes to the Heat Pump Expiration time.
  9. Tap Save.
